I just returned from my first tour of The Villages, Florida!

Last year I sold a home for a lovely couple in St. Johns County. It was under contract in just 35 days! They knew The Villages was the place they wanted to spend their next chapter & I was honored to help make that happen. They were so kind to recently invite me to their new home in The Villages & tour the community during my visit.

As a Seniors Real Estate Specialist (SRES®), I wanted to see firsthand what all the buzz is about—& separate fact from fiction.

Here's what I discovered:

• Golf cart-friendly lifestyle with easy access to shopping, dining, entertainment, healthcare facilities, numerous churches, synagogues, and faith-based organizations throughout the area

• Thousands of clubs, activities, & social opportunities

• Housing options ranging from low-maintenance villas to luxury homes from $200,000- $1,000,000

• Just 2–2.5 hours from Northeast Florida

Some common misconceptions I heard before visiting:

"It's only for golfers." Not true—there are activities & clubs for almost every interest.

"Everyone lives the same lifestyle." Residents can be as active or as private as they choose.

"It's all tiny homes." The community offers a wide variety of home sizes, styles, & price points.

"There's no sense of community beyond recreation." Many residents are actively involved in churches, faith-based organizations, volunteer groups, and charitable activities throughout the community.
